The Pianissimo Studio Policy for 2023-2024

Thank you for choosing The Pianissimo Studio for your child’s musical journey! In order to provide a creative and effective learning experience, we have implemented the following policies.

The Studio Schedule

The studio schedule runs from August 7th through June 30th. Current students will begin August 7th. New students, Toddler and Pre-School Classes will begin September 5th. Summer Camps and lessons/classes will continue through June. Each student is expected to participate in June. Recitals and special events will be held with timely notice. 1)Romantic Time Period will be end of October. 2)Christmas as we near the Holiday. 3)Ensemble Recital the end of May.

Lessons/Classes

Each lesson/class will include private instruction and independent lab time using an iPad and/or keyboard.

Detailed class lists are provided under the lessons tab for more information on class type/style.

If a student misses a lesson, they will simply miss the benefit of that lesson. No refunds are given. Tuition pays for far more than just lesson time with you or your child. Please see FAQs for more details.

Tuition

Tuition rates for each lesson/class are detailed under the lessons tab.

Payments can be in full at the beginning of August or divided into 11 equal monthly installments. Tuition is due on the first day of every month from August through June. Tuition is late after the 10th day of the month and a $20 late fee will be charged.

Tuition payment is by cash or check. A yearly non-refundable registration fee of $30 per family is required.

Tuition discounts are offered for multiple children and/or classes. The 2nd child in a family will receive a 20% discount on monthly tuition. The 3rd child in a family will receive lessons at a rate of $50 per month.

If for any reason you must stop lessons, a conference with Mrs. Truitt is required. A one month notice and payment are additionally required.

Practice

Regular practice is imperative to learn how to play proficiently. A minimum of 15-45 minutes of practice on 5 days per week is expected. (Depending on the age of the child.) Group lessons and monthly classes/events are required.

Scheduling

Please be considerate of scheduling. If you arrive 15 minutes late, we cannot always provide an extra 15 minutes at the end of your child’s lesson. Our teachers may also need your patience! Sometimes schedules do not work in reality the way they appear to work on paper. It may take a few lessons to determine if a change needs to be made on a particular day for the schedule to run smoothly. Everyone has tight schedules and we do our best to keep everything running smoothly. We appreciate you being considerate of a 15-minute window of time while we work each day.

Grooming

Fingernails are expected to be trimmed short. In order to be able to learn proper technique, nails should be no longer than the tip of the finger. If a student shows up with nails that are too long, they will either be trimmed by Mrs. Truitt or lessons for the day will consist of non-playing activities.

Dogs in the Fence:

Students and family members are expected to exit their vehicle and come directly to the Studio. Any person caught teasing the dogs in any way will be put on notice and after the third offense will be dismissed from the Studio. Do not approach the fence, throw anything into the fenced area or do anything that causes the dogs to bark or run. If you must bring your dog to lessons, please notify me that you have a dog with you and keep them in your vehicle. This is for the safety of people and dogs and is not negotiable.

Facebook Posts:

Updates of all kinds will be posted on the studio Fb Page: The Pianissimo Studio. Please “Like” or follow this page so you will be up to date on announcements.
